I’m Jeff Hales, running for State Representative in House District 86. Currently serving as Council Member for the 1st Ward of University City, I prioritize cooperation, understanding, and delivering results for our community.

With a strong commitment to public service, I volunteered as an American Legion Baseball coach for a decade after a career-ending injury. I then served on the city’s Traffic Commission and became a Council Member for Ward 1 in University City in 2018.

During my time on the City Council, I’ve focused on government transparency, ensuring live-streaming and recording of council meetings for public access. I’ve also collaborated on projects bringing nearly $400 million of investment and development to University City, including the Costco and Avenir and McKenzie Apartment Developments.

In response to devastating flooding, I took action to hold the Metropolitan Sewer District accountable, talking with our Storm Water Commission Members, touring the debris filled channels and tunnels and pressing MSD to be accountable to rate payers for the maintenance of their infrastructure.  In recent months, that has resulted in MSD’s removal of over 500 tons of debris from their channels and storm-water tunnels.

Now, I’m running for State Representative to advocate for government transparency, promote economic development, and work for the rights for all of District 86 and all Missourians.
